From the moment that I started working on this website I knew that I wanted to create a page that was easy to navigate. After trying different layouts I decided that I wanted to include the links to other pages on one section. This is why all of the pages are located on the left side. In the beginning I tried having some page links at the top and some at the left, but after analyzing and looking at it for some time, I decided that keeping everything together made more sense.
For me personally it is easier to navigate through websites (especially those that I am visiting for the first time) if all of the information including links to other pages are located next to one another. For example I find it really confusing to navigate a web page which has information and links to other pages splattered all over the place. In oder words I was trying to create a web page that seemed orderly or neat. Every tab takes the viewer or reader to that specific assignment. The only assignments that I grouped under a specific tab were "DIfferent Writing Projects", these include the Playlist Assignment and the Vicual Essay.
While working on actual projects I had also originally thought about uploading the files directly to each page and having them as downloadable files. I soon realized that I did not like how this looked. The pages looked empty, some writing or description with a downloadable file, I didn't like the look or feel of this at all. Instead I chose to trype on a Word, and then copy and paste each assignment or project. Of course for any additional files, I did include them as downloadable files.
Because I choose to do this this way there is a relative amount of scrolling in every page that contains an assignment. While other people may be bothered by this I do not find this bothersome. The final layout of the website I have created is just I had originally envisioned it. I am even extremely pleased with the color combination of the template I used. The orange, black and white really work well together.
Though I'm sure the projects could use some modifications in certain areas, I am also really glad with the final product. My long Saturday and Sunday work days seem to have payed off. When I first started this project I thought there would be no way I would be capable of completing such a task. As I began to see the work of my peers I felt that I would never catch up. This changes when I became more comfortable with weebly and began to further develop each individual project. In the end I know that even though the work may be far from perfect, I learned a lot from working on this Electronic Portfolio. :)
