Teaching is the hardest, most fascinating, challenging, mind breaking, and rewarding thing I've ever had to do.  My motivation comes from my students, they make me strive to be a better teacher, and a better person every day.

I work at John C. Fremont High School, this is also the high school I attended.  The school is often plagued by negative media coverage because it is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, and also because it is located in South Central, Los Angeles.  In reality it is a place where students work hard to overcome their adversities and challenges in an effort to learn, and to empower themselves through education.

Currently I am enrolled in the English Literature Graduate Program at CSUDH, and the classes are some of the most rigorous and challenging I have ever taken.  Though it is perhaps one of the greatest academic challenges I will ever be faced with, I know that the knowledge and concepts that I learn will help me on my path to become a better educator.

The course Teaching Writing with Computers/ ENG 570 has been an eye opening experience for me.  I have encountered so much invaluable information about research, strategies, practices and resources out there to enable the teaching of composition with the usage of modern technology.  While this online portfolio is an ongoing process I hope to one day look back and be able to move beyond the headaches and pains, and appreciate all of the valuable knowledge I have gained through the process
